We can say that this is a privileged place, because we enjoy on the same time Mediterranean benefits and Atlantic ones.
The city is between two rivers, the Bernesga and the Torío where our Roman forefathers built their Legio VII camp. We still can admire large walls remembering us those days.
But Roman and medieval walls are only a little part of our patrimony. Certainly, León is one of the most important cities in the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela, a city in Spain where traditionally is situated the Saint James sepulchre. Pilgrims going there, usually stay a few days with us. It can be because of our hospitality, but overcoat, is because of the importance of the monuments.

Firstly of all… our treasure… the Gothic cathedral. Was built in the thirteenth century and is not very different than others but the real treasures are its stained glass windows. They are surely the most important ones all over the world.

Then, The Basilica of San Isidoro, a Romanesque building housing the royal pantheon where lie king’s mortal remains of the ancient Kingdom of León.

Hi!
I'm Adelaide, from the blog mitalumnos.blogspot.com. Nice to meet you, and thanks for that introduction of Leon with all the beautiful pictures!
:) adelaide.
Hi!Adelaide,
we are Guillermo and Dani (ourleon.blogspot.com). We are from two small village of Leon but we live in Leon city during the year.
Hi, authors of "our Leon!" My name is Sherry, from the blog http://otro-vistazo.blogspot.com/. I like this post. It's very much like a tourist guide. I like how Leon's architecture has both old and modern styles. It's the same in Boston. We have old churches among glass buildings. It's a wonderful view!
