some questions for you about food

We would like to know somethings about the food in your country
For example:
what time do you usually have breakfast, lunch and dinner?
Do you have some typical dishes in your state?
What do you think about american food?
could you describe us your favourite place to eat?
what is the most strange food have you ever eaten?

Hola! My name is Katie and I'm in my final year of MIT.

I usually don't eat breakfast because I don't have time to before class. For lunch, I usually have a sandwich and it's my biggest meal of the day. I like to eat breakfast food like cereal for dinner. Overall, I don't think I eat the stereotypical American meal for any of my meals, because I eat at very random times and basically eat whatever I feel like eating at the time.

Dishes don't really differ by state. There is just typical American food, like barbecue or burgers and other things like that. I'm actually Russian, so I eat some Russian food occasionally and when I go home as well.

I'm not a huge fan of American food; I prefer other kinds of foods, like Chinese or Italian or Ethiopian. I really like exploring lots of cultural food options, and I don't feel like American food is very cultural or healthy for that matter.

My favorite place to eat is a sushi restaurant nearby MIT. It has very interesting sushi with lots of different fish and spices in each roll and it's my favorite kind of food.

I think food does vary but the region of the country. There are some foods that are usually only found in the south, like fried okra (a type of vegetable), and others that are state specific, like apple butter is most common in Pennsylvania.

I actually really like American food. My favorite is probably my mother’s pot roast, which is beef cooked all day in broth with vegetables like carrots and potatoes. I don’t go out to eat very often; I usually just eat at home or in the cafeteria at school. My favorite restaurant though is a tiny place in the mountains in Colorado that serves really good Italian pasta.

I don’t really know how to describe American food- the first things that come to mind are cheeseburgers, hot dogs, French fries, and apple pie, none of which I personally like to eat very often. There are more interesting regional specialties, like barbecue in Texas and Kansas (which is really good!), things like fried chicken, cornbread, and pecan pie in the south, Tex-Mex in the southwest, pizza and bagels in New York City, Philly Cheese Steaks in Philadelphia, and on an on. And I’d say in all places, Chinese, Italian, and Mexican restaurants are very popular.

The strangest food that I can think of right now that I have tried was fried chicken feet at a Chinese restaurant in Boston’s Chinatown. I was not a fan, they were very fatty and chewy, but at least I tried them!
